Delta State Deputy Governor Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, says Chief (Dr) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, is a gift of inestimable value to the Ijaw nation.
Otuaro in goodwill message on the occasion of the 90th birthday celebration of the elder statesman also described him as an irrepressible (sic) defender of the causes of the South-South geo-political zone and indeed a foremost promoter of Nigeria’s corporate entity.
The deputy governor enumerated some of Clark’s unsung achievements to include, the emergence of a South-South President, a goal he publicly orchestrated via the Calabar Declaration of 2004 by the South-South Peoples Assembly (SSPA) which he led and vigorously pursued to fruition when Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan became Nigeria’s first President from the South-South geo-political zone in May 2010.
“In this feat and more, Pa Edwin Clark is indeed an iconoclast”
“It is to the glory of God Almighty to whom we render thanks that @ 90, Pa Edwin Clark remains indefatigable and places himself in service to his people, Nigeria and mankind”.
“I pray and wish Pa Senator Chief (Dr.) Edwin CLARK, wisdom and strength from Almighty God as I join millions of his admirers around the world on May 25 to say “Happy Birthday” to an iconoclast so deserving of honour”.
