Sources familiar with the matter confirmed the new development to our correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Punch quoted the Public Relations Officer of the school, Habib Yakoob as saying, “They got in touch with the family, the parents of the abducted children were contacted. We learnt they are asking for N300 million for all of them”.
The PUNCH reports that a yet-to-be-disclosed number of gunmen stormed the University of Abuja in the wee hours of Tuesday morning and made away with two professors, a non-academic staff and three others.
