Flying Eagles have started their campaign on a rather disappointing note after falling 1-2 to Uganda on Thursday in their group opener at the All Africa Games Men’s Football Tournament.
The Ugandans went ahead through Kiza Usman in the 34th minute only for Sodiq Isiyiaka to draw Nigeria level three minutes later.
Ivan Irinimbabazi then secured the winner for the Ugandans in the 81st minute to have Nigeria suffering a setback early on in their campaign.
Flying Eagles, drawn in Group B in the All Africa Games have matches against South Sudan and Senegal to redeem their chances of making it to the next round.
