Aniagu wins Nkanu West PDP Assembly primary election

The member representing Nkanu West state constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Iloabuchi Desmond Aniagu has been formally declared winner for PDP primary election by the PDP returning officer, Mr.Emeka Nnabugo.

In the primary election held at Nkanu West LG headquarters,  Hon.Aniagu polled 133 votes to defeat four other contestants.

Mr. Chimaobi Edeh came second with 6 votes. Other aspirants scores are as follows :

Dr. Chinedu Egbo.         – 5
Barr. Umeadi Nkwonta – 4
Mr. Nduka Obodo           -3
Mr. Nnabuike Oze          -2

While four other candidates including Uchenna Nwatu,  Kenneth Ani,  Chinonso Nweke and  Chief Uchenna Ogbodo stepped down for Aniagu:

The aspirants in their separate speeches said that their decisions were to support the incumbent and to ensure peace within the party.

Speaking shortly after he was declared winner, Aniagu said the his victory is a show of love by the people of Nkanu West LG stressing that such feat would spur him to continue to do more for the constituency.

He thanked the delegates for finding him worthy to serve his people again promising not to disappoint them.

Aniagu thanked the governor, Rt.Hon.Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the state party leadership for creating the enabling environment that ensured transparent, free and fair primaries throughout the state.

INEC monitoring team and security agents were on ground to observe and to provide security for the peaceful conduct of the election.
