The Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh, has donated over 200 bags of groundnut seedlings to Users women for the 2018 farming season.
Askia, fondly called “Angel of Empowerment”, said the donation is part of his contribution to ensure to boost agriculture and food sufficiency in the area.
Askia who promised more empowerment opportunities for Users people and Isoko in general advised the women to ensure that no one is discriminated against in the distribution of the seedlings.
Meanwhile, the Uzere Ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Immortal Efi, used the occasion to inaugurate the Women Wing of the party in the three quarters of Uhe, Ezede, and Eweye and appealed to them to continue to support the party.
Speaking on behalf of the women, the visibly elated, Woman Leader Users Ward 04, Mrs Gladys Omoruku thanked Bashorun Askia for remembering the women and assured that they will continue to drum support for his people-oriented leadership.
Mrs Omoruku promised to ensure to ensure equitable distribution of the seedlings for the benefit of Uzere Women.
