An author, Dr Acho Orabuchi, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to be distracted on his avowed resolve to fight corruption in the country.

Orabuchi, who is the author of the book “Views from America: A Sojourner’s Memoirs – A Repertoire of Action for Nigeria’s Development” gave the advice while speaking with newsmen in Enugu.

The author bared his mind on the daunting challenges of nation-building and aims to sensitise Nigerians on their roles and responsibilities in bringing about the Nigeria of “our dreams’’.

Orabuchi, who is an adjunct Professor at Paul Quinn College, Texas State, USA, however, expressed the hope that President Buhari would be stronger to curb corruption and vestiges in government.

He said that he believed in the potential of every Nigerian to join forces with the government of the day in turning in a more secure country with a robust economy.

The scholar, who had explained through numerous articles the roles of dedication and service as key ingredients in nation building; noted that every citizen of Nigeria should work hard to bringing about a more transparent and healthy economy.

Orabuchi noted that there should be a paradigm shift from a mono-economy to a diversified economy where industrial growth and expansion would shore-up the revenue base of the nation.

On the political arena in the face of the lingering “gloomy economy’’, the don said that there was a need for a total overhaul of the current local government system in Nigeria to engender a bottom-up development starting from the grassroots.

He noted that the state governors must do a lot to bolster the revenue base of their states and council areas.

On the book; “”Views from America: A Sojourner’s Memoirs – A Repertoire of Action for Nigeria’s Development”, which would be officially unveiled on Dec. 28; the don said that the book provide a window for an unbiased rating of government’s performance.

“The book is also a leeway to Nigeria’s socio-political and economic recovery,’’ he said.

Orabuchi said that 253- page book, which consists of 11 chapters, expressed the dire need to create employment for young people in the country.

“We cannot resign ourselves to losing a generation of young people who do not have the dignity of work,’’ he said.

NAN recalls that the preface to the much-awaited book was penned by no other personality than a former Governor of Imo State, Dr Ikedi Ohakim.

The forewords to the book were written by Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, Deputy Senate President and Mr Femi Adeshina, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity.

The book was edited by Edwin Nwachukwu, a Senior Editor in the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN); whose experience in journalism spans over two decades years, including serving as NAN Bureau Chief at the United Nations Headquarters, New York.

The book would be officially unveiled on Dec. 28, 2017, at Rockview Conference and Seminar Hall, Government Layout, Owerri in Imo State by 11 a.m. prompt.
