Asaba – Aviara Community Development Union, ACDU, Asaba branch has honoured their illustrious sons in Asaba, Delta State Capital.
They include the member representing Isoko South Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Prince Johnson Erijo, former Delta State Sports Commissioner, Solomon Ogba as well as Sir Emmanuel Elili and Fidelis Opolie_Erijo, among others.
Speaking during the award ceremony and grand reception held in Asaba on Sunday, chairman of the union, Pastor Clifford Ogodoh said the award was for their immense contribution to the development of Aviara in the areas of human capital development, empowerment of Aviara youths, and positioning of Aviara youths in government and private sectors.
According to him, the award is only conferred on deserving members who render selfless services to the community.
The occasion which took place at Chadef Hotel, Asaba was chaired by Dr. Ben Oruerio and had in attendance, the state Commissioner for urban renewal hon. karo Ilolo, Executive Chairman Of Isoko South Local Government Council Sir. Malik Ikpokpo, Commissioner, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, Chief Jackson Ulebe, SSA to Delta State Governor, Mr. Omafeni Oghale, a member of Delta State House Of Assembly Service Commission, Pst. Christian Eteire.
Others were; Chief Edhekpo Uyoyou, Pst. Austin Igbine, Surveyor Ellais Ovesue, Mr. Philip Osima Pg Aviara clan amongst other personalities.
While speaking on behalf of the awardees, prince erijo thanked the organizers for the honour bestowed on them.
Hon. erijo recalled how, he and evang. ogba and others built a formidable team in government which has culminated to speedy development in Aviara.
Erijo who dedicated the award to god, and his wife, Mrs. Ewoma Erijo charged all Aviara indigenes living in Asaba and its environ to, at all times, cultivate the spirit of identifying with union, assist those in need in any way they can and above all, love one another.
