The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has won his election in Alkaleri Local Government Area where Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed hails from.
According to the result announced by the Electoral Officer of the Local Government, Prof. Kamarudeen Ali, at about 12.15am on Monday, Atiku got 25,098 votes to defeat his closet rival of the All Progressives Congress, Ahmed Tinubu who got 12,238 votes.
The New Nigerian People’s Party candidate, Musa Kwankwaso came third with 1,232 votes while that of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, got 147 votes.
He said that there are 151,551 registered voters and those that were accredited are: 41,691.
According to him, the total valid votes are: 39,084, rejected votes: are 1,288 and the total votes cast are 40,372.
The announcement of the results was done at the Presidential Election Collation Center, Independent National Electoral Commission Headquarters, Bauchi.
