Schedule of activities for the 2018 Enugu state civil service week has been released.
A memo circulated to all Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government indicate that the event will begin Monday 22nd to Sunday 28th October 2018.
This followed approval by the state governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The celebration is aimed at appreciating the role of workers in driving government policies and programmes, while serving as a platform for social interactions among workers.
To this end, the Head of Service, Chidi Ezema has inaugurated a 13-member Central Planning Committee for the Civil Service Week celebration.
Performing the inauguration ceremony, Ezema , commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for approving this year’s civil service week which will commence on Monday 22nd to end on Sunday 28th October 2018.
The Head of Service who disclosed that the theme of 2018 Civil Service Week is, “Transforming Governance to Realise Sustainable Development Goals”, charged the committee to ensure a successful ceremony, noting that the week-long activity is aimed at appreciating the role of workers of Enugu state in driving government policies and programmes.

A release issued by the Chairman, Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, Chike Ezugu indicated that several activities have been lined up for the celebration including clean up exercise, tree planting, public lectures, novelty football match , cultural dance , march past competitions among Ministries, Departments , and Agencies.
“All MDAs wishing to take part in the traditional dance, Igwe and Lolo cultural attire competition are requested to make their submission, which include the names and details of their dance troupes, Igwe and Lolo representatives to the office of the Head of Service not later than 19th October, 2018”.
According to Ezugu who is also a Director in the Ministry of Information, other activities are visit to orphanages and thanksgiving service to wind up the ceremony.
Meanwhile, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies have been enjoined to mobilize their workers to ensure full participation in all the activities as prizes will be given to best performing MDAs.
