OHRERHE COMMUNITY IN JUBILATION AS ROAD CONTRACTOR MOVES TO SITE

The people of Ohrerhe Community of Agbarho in Ughelli north local government area of the state have expressed joy as the contractor handling the road project moved back to site.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the president, Mr Gilbert Afatakpa said that the fear of the people has been laid to rest since the contractor has commenced work on the project “After d bridge was done, the work came to a halt. So the people were apprehensive that the road project may have been abandoned but we are indeed happy today that the contractor is back to site.”
Mr Afatakpa noted that the road project had been attempted on three different occasions but was always abandoned hence the fear of the people ” I think this should be the fourth attempt that the road project have been be awarded. But this is the only time we are seeing the green light.
The Ohrerhe Community president thanked the governor for the bridge and the road project and assured the contractor of the community support for the speedy completion of the road project.
The community liaison officer (CLO) Mr Akpos Okuadejo who was on site this morning with the workers said that the work has commenced in earnest, saying that the road project will be completed within a short time “We thank God that today Monday the work has commenced.
The contractor has fully mobilized to site and I believe that within a very short interval of time, the road would have been completed.
Speaking on the quality of the road, the CLO said it was up to standard, saying that when it is completed, it will be one of its kinds in Agbarho Clan.
Mr Jite Omokri, a youth of the community who took our reporter to site said the youth of the community are solidly behind the contractor to see that no one poses as an obstacle to the completion of the job.
Mr Omokri noted that since the commencement of the road, price of land and house rent have appreciated tremendously.
He appealed to the state government to also award the phase 2 of the Ohrerhe Road which connects Ohrerhe and Otokutu in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
