ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY ALERTS RESIDENTS OF LASSER FEVER RESURGENCE
Delta State Ministry of Environment has charged residents in the state to protect their premises from rodents in a bid to forestall the outbreak of the deadly Lassa Fever epidemic.
The ministry stated that the continued resurgence of Lassa Fever as published in several electronic and print media in the country is a warning for the general public particularly residents in Delta State to keep their environment clean and safe.
The Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr Christian Onogba in a statement, stressed the need for prevention, saying it is better and cheaper than being infected with the deadly Lassa Fever Virus.
He advised the general public to keep their environment clean, patronize the private sector participants (PSP) for appropriate disposal of waste, protect your waste from scavengers and protect your food and food stuffs from rodents.
