THE Delta State Government has said that it is poised to ensure that the image of the state is re-branded through beauty contest and cultural reformation.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, stated this while receiving the winner of Little Miss Queen Delta Beauty Pageant Contest, Miss Kelechi Osirike, in Asaba.

The commissioner noted that he was impressed with the courage and high sense of maturity displayed by the winner and counselled little Miss Kelechi Osirike to see herself as an embodiment of the new face of Delta and image-maker of the state.

He advised the little beauty queen to be part of the crusade against cultism, child abuse, indecent dressing and teenage prostitution, adding that the government of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa would continue to encourage creativity and talent display among youths in the state.

The commissioner used the opportunity to reaffirm government’s policy in ensuring that both public and private schools in the state would no longer receive approval without sporting activities, noting that already existing schools lacking the requisite facilities had been given a time frame to upgrade.

The winner of Little Miss Queen Delta, appealed to the state government to support her with necessary assistance to enable her to succeed in getting exposure within and outside the state.
