DBIR SECRETARY EDEGWARE, DONATES BOOKS TO SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN IGBIDE…admonishes students to shun social vices

The Board Secretary, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, DBIR,   Chief Mike Edegware has donated exercise books to all secondary school students and teachers in Igbide and Owodokpokpo in Isoko South LGA of Delta State in line with the SMART Agenda of Delta state Governor, Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa,

The DBIR Board Secretary who flagged off the exercise in Igbide Grammar School and Owodokpokpo Grammar respectively took time to educate the students on the importance of education and the need for them to remain focused, studious and hard working in this very crucial stage of their lives.

Edegware who widely called Civil General admonished the students to shun all forms of social vices, juvenile delinquencies and never to yield to peer pressure and other challenges of life.

He also encouraged the teachers and principals to continue the good work they have been doing, stating that the exercise is one of the many dividends of democracy of the Okowa-led administration.

The Board Secretary who took special interest in the way the students were dressed, noticed that some of them were without sandals and promised to provide 100 pairs of sandals for those who fell in that category.

Other who spoke at the event including the PDP leader Igbide Ward 07, High Chief Mike Usige and the Board Member representing Delta North in the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Chief Goddey I. Daniel re-echoed the commitment of the current administration to the wellbeing of the people.

Responding on behalf of the schools, the Principals appreciated the gesture noting that it will help to lift the financial burden on parents and guardians, and a huge encouragement to both the teachers and Students.

They both prayed God to continue to bless the donor, Chief Edegware as well as all who made the exercise successful and the Okowa-led administration.

The DBIR Scribe seized the opportunity to visit the traditional ruler of Igbide Kingdom, HRM Edward Obukeni I (JP) and presented some copies of the books to him. The King who expressed deep joy and satisfaction at the gesture rained royal blessings on the Civilian General and all who accompanied him.

Dignitaries who accompanied him on the exercise included Chief Goddey I. Daniel, Chief Mike Usige (JP), President General of Igbide Union Chief, Dr. D.S Edegware, Chief Williams Ikolomi, Isoko South PDP LGA Exco led by Mr. Rapheal Oderewu, Igbide Ward 07 PDP Exco led by Christopher Ukulubu, PDP faithful, Dr. Prosper Awhoregba, Mrs. Alex Ovie, Mr. Ajereghele Otuwho Ovikpokpo, support Staff of the DBIR Board Secretary, Members of the NYSC, Isoko South LGA among others.
