Charity Busuyi, the younger sister of a 22-year-old lady from Akoko-Edo, Edo State, Tosin Busuyi, is seeking financial help to carry out a surgery on Tosin, who is battling a mouth tumour.

Charity, 18, told Sunday PUNCH that Tosin had been living in serious pain since the tumour began to grow five years ago.

She said their widowed mum is a petty trader and could not afford the cost of the surgery said to be about N450,000.

She said, “We initially took her to an herbalist who gave her traditional medicines but the tumour kept increasing. Someone later advised us to take her to the hospital. We took her to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital and she did some tests.

“We were asked to pay N450,000 for her surgery but we don’t have the money. My mum sells pepper and I help her in the trade. Our dad is dead. We are appealing to Nigerians to assist us so that she can undergo the surgery. She cries every day as a result of pain.”

The result of a scan of Busuyi’s jaw signed by a consultant radiologist, one Dr Michael, revealed that “there is a large pedunculated soft tissue mass involving the nasal cavities and the maxilla with destruction of the anterior wall of nasal bones.

It added, “There is hyperostosis and the deformity of the maxilla with displacement of the teeth.”

Donations for Tosin’s treatment can be sent to her First Bank account with the name, Tosin Busuyi and account number, 3112922969.
