The hunt for a 23-year-old boy, Onyia Eric Chiagozie has intensified in Enugu State, South-East Nigeria over an alleged involvement in homo-sexual related activities and perceived introduction of many people into the act.

Our reporter gathered from the residents that the neighbourhood watch group in the area, a Community Policing outfit has been on the trail of Eric Onyia, who is believed to be a gay and bent on cracking down on the alleged group of individuals believed to be homosexuals.

The sources said, Eric Onyia has been always been seen in the company of other boys with questionable character which raised so many dust in the neighborhood four years ago.

According to the source, Eric’s activities as a gay were unraveled about four years ago when he was nineteen years old.

The source revealed that the youths of the area invaded an alleged gay bar where Eric Onyia stays alongside other boys believed to be his partners in homosexuality and some of them were caught in the act.

For Onyia, he was allegedly caught pant down with his “sweetheart” another boy accused of gay and simply identified as Nonso in a corner within the bar.

However, at the process of their interrogation Onyia escaped while Nonso was not so lucky.

It could be recalled that the National Assembly has passed the Anti-Gay law on March 2014 and it received the assent of President Goodluck Jonathan the same month.

The law states that any person or individual caught running a gay bar or club, upon conviction will face a 10-year prison sentence; while any person caught practicing homosexuality should be sentenced to 14-years imprisonment.

Meanwhile, the law enjoys high level of acceptability among Nigerians, who as a result of their religious belief hold the undivided opinion that gay practice is a serious crime and evil.

At the point of this report,   Nonso is believed to be in the prison custody while Eric Onyia’s disappearance remains unresolved matter.

More so, a relation to Eric Onyia who doesn’t want his name mentioned informed our reporter that Eric’s saga has continued to attract aggression and verbal bully to their family members since the last four years.

He stated that Eric Onyia is still alive but his family members are yet to confirm his new resident.
