Enugu state government says it will continue to identify with the people of the state towards improving their living standard.
The commissioner for health, Enugu state, Dr. Ecochin Fiantan gave this assurance on Monday during an induction ceremony of the 6th batch of medical graduands of Enugu state university of science and Technology College of medicine (ESUCOM), Enugu.
The commissioner, who commended the governor for his effort towards making Enugu state proud, encouraged the graduands to always maintain diligence in their duty and charged the undergraduate students to emulate them.
In a welcome address, the ESUT Vice Chancellor, Luke Anike, represented by the deputy vice-chancellor, Professor Sam Nwoye Eze, who appreciated the staff of ESUCOM for their effort in supervising the training process, noted that out of the forty six medical students that went through the final assessment process, only twenty nine were inducted into the medical field.
In their separate remarks, the chief medical director ESUT teaching hospital, doctor Gabriel Njeze, the dean of faculty of clinical medicine ESUT, Professor Frank Ezugwu and the provost of the college of medicine ESUT, professor Anthony Ugochukwu, urged the graduands to embark on residency programmes and other skills which will help them practice their profession effectively.
The graduating students, who were also charged to uphold the laws and ethics of medicine so as to enable them excel in practice, expressed happiness for being certified and inducted into the medical field.
