Enugu Govt warns against scooping of fuel from fallen tanker

The Enugu State government has warned against scooping of fuel from a fallen tanker at along Eke Obinagu-Emene-Abakaliki Road, Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.

A tanker carrying 33,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), fell on Friday, blocking the Emene- Axis of Enugu-Abakaliki road.
Residents of the area were already coming out to fetch the spilled content of the tanker as men and officers of the State Fire Service and other emergency stakeholders respondent swiftly to mitigate the impact.
But the Enugu State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in a statement advised residents of the area and road users not to scoop the content of the fallen tanker in view of the inherent hazard associated with such unlawful act.
The statement signed by Mrs. Nkechi Eneh , Executive Secretary of the agency however advised citizens and road users  to use alternative routes provided by government.
