In support of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s good governance and infrastructure development strides in the state, a socio-political group, United Enugu State Men and Women for Gburugburu 2019, has completed sensitization of the electorate in the state.

The group which has completed inauguration of its Executive Working Committees (EWC) across the 17 council areas in the state said its main objective is to keep the indigenes of the state abreast of the governor’s achievements, adding that the governor has continued to deliver monumental development projects as well as payment of workers’ salaries and pensions even in the face of biting national economic recession.

In their separate speeches, the state coordinators Enugu United for men and women, Chijioke Henry Okpe, and Mrs Nneoma Josephine Nwokedike, said the group decided to sensitise and mobilise the people for the governor to pave the way for his smooth victory during the 2019 governorship election in the state.

“Because Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has performed impressively in less than two years in office, we have decided to take this sensitization and mobilization tour across the 17 council areas to ensure that the electorate are up and doing in terms of updating their voters cards in the on- going Continuous Voters’ Registration (CVR) exercise, and to ensure that they vote continuity in the 2019 governorship election in the state.

“Governor Ugwuanyi has shown that Enugu State is in the hands of God by clearly leading the state with the fear of God, doing projects and paying salaries. The people of the local governments we have visited so far have demonstrated that they are 100 percent in support of the governor because of his good works and people-oriented administrative policies”, said the Men coordinator.

The Coordinator for women Mrs Nwokedike said “We are overwhelmed by the turnouts in each of the council areas we have visited, an affirmation that there is no vacancy in Government House, Enugu, come 2019.

“The people have seen the governor’s good works and they want him to remain on seat and complete his second tenure,” she said.

A statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media to Deputy Governor, Engr. Ejike Ezeilo said the council chairmen of all the 17 Local Government Area enjoined the group to continue the sensitization programme as only registered voters would exercise their franchise during the governorship election in the state.
