Member Representing Nkanu East Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Paul Nnajiofor has been conferred with Icon of Christian Leadership Award.
He received the award from the Men’s Ministry of the Assemblies of God Church, Enugu District, New Haven, on Sunday.
The award is in recognition of his contributions to the advocacy for the involvement of Christians in leadership positions politically and otherwise as well as his commitment to advancing the cause of humanity through effective legislation in the House of Assembly.
Speaking shortly after receiving his award from the church’s mens’ ministry, as “Icon of Christian Leadership”, the member representing Nkanu East constituency, said it will spur him the more in providing for the indigents, even as he dedicated the award to his family, the church and his constituents.
He expressed his readiness to continue his service to God and humanity.
Also in an interview, the District Superintendent, Assemblies Of God Church Enugu District, Reverend Emmanuel Ngene, who is also one of the awardees and his wife Reverend Charity, advised the men to imbibe saving culture for their future, and charged women to always be financially supportive to their husbands in other to elongate their lifespan.
Earlier, in a lecture titled: ’’Open Door Of Wealth Creation and Transfer’’, a notable businessman and transporter, Samuel Onyishi harped on the need for people to plan for their future by saving at least 10 percent of their income, even as he advised them to invest wisely.
On his part, deacon Sylvester Ugwuoke, the Men’s president of the assemblies of God church, New Haven Enugu, said the organisation which metamorphosed from men’s fellowship to Men’s Ministry in 1974, has achieved a lot especially in the work of evangelism.
Other awardees include Samuel Onyishi, former Men’s President, Deacon Donatus Ugwu, brother Samuel Nnaji, and reverend Emmanuel Nebo among others.
The event marked the end of the Mens’ Week and also the Church’s Men’s Day with the theme: “Open Door”.
