The Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, Edward Ubosi has commended the principal officers, members and staff of the House, for the peaceful working relationship and support, throughout the second legislative session.
Ubosi also enumerated some of the achievements of the sixth assembly while promising to lead the house to attain greater heights.
The Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly Edward Ubosi explained that since the inauguration of the sixth assembly in June 2015, the legislature has passed twenty-three high impact bills while twenty-five motions have been presented and considered.
Ubosi noted that the sixth assembly would not have recorded such milestone without the cordial working relationship between the executive, the judiciary, the staff of the house as well as the good people they represent.
The Deputy Speaker, Donatus Uzogbado, the leader of the house, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu and other members of the house in separate contributions commended the leadership qualities of the speaker.
They assured that, through legislative oversight, proper representation and enactment of laws, the sixth assembly is committed to serving people of the state even better and ensures the proper implementation of the bills passed into law.
Just before the conclusion of the second legislative session, the House accepted a letter from the governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi requesting the house to confirm the appointment of the state auditor general, Okoro Livinus Ugwu having scored highest during the interview conducted.
The request from the governor follows the recommendation by the state civil service commission subject to confirmation by the House of Assembly.
