The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Sp Ebere Amaraizu has been conferred the prestigious Nigeria pitch Award The award endorsed by the Nigeria Football Federation is anchored on his role towards grass root football development including that of the police whom he has brought to the limelight. The award took place in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state recently during the fourth edition of the Nigeria Pitch award.
Presenting the award to the Enugu State Commissioner of Police Danmallam Mohammed at the conference room of the State Police Headquarters Enugu on Tuesday, who later handed the plaque to the recipient, the Managing Director of the Pitch Makers Consult, Shina Philips explained that the award followed a rigorous voting exercise of electoral college which was handled by independent auditing firm to ensure credibility and transparency of the process.
He further maintained that this came under special recognition awards for football management and promotion in Nigeria which Amaraizu and one other won in the year 2016 for this fourth edition and thanked the commissioner of police and the entire force for giving him the platform to perform.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police, Danmallam Mohammed expressed joy and thanked the organisation considering Amaraizu worthy of the recognition describing him as a man with many parts and urged him not to relent.
The recipient, Sp Ebere Amaraizu after receiving the award from the Commissioner of Police dedicated it to all those who have lost their lives in promotion and development of sports.
He thanked the commissioner of police for his support which has led to the award and also gave kudos to the sports journalists for their role in football development.
