Like Minds for Dr. Peter Mbah, a political support group for the governor of Enugu state has scored the governor high in delivering his campaign promises to the people.
The group while assessing the government’s performance under one year in office , said it has not regretted supporting Governor Mbah in the 2023 General Elections.
Speaking at a solidarity meeting of the group on Thursday at Ngwo Park, Uwani, Enugu South Local Government Area, the Convener and Coordinator, Like Minds for Peter Mbah, Enugu South Chapter, Barr. Sunday Aninwagwa said Enugu South LGA remains the biggest beneficiary of Governor Mbah’s disruptive governance which he said is evident in the numerous road projects being executed in Enugu South.
Barr. Aninwagwa said the governor on assumption of office confronted frontally the teething challenge of water supply in the state and has resolved the age-long water scarcity.
“I have been living in Achara Layout for the past 15 years, water has not been flowing. But on assumption of office, Governor Peter Mbah made water available. Water is now flowing in many homes”, he said.
He enumerated some of Governor Mbah’s achievements in road infrastructure to include; rehabilitation and construction Emeka Ebila Street, Agbani road, Ocean Oil, Awkunanaw Street and Akpo Street among others.
While commending the governor for the smart school initiative and Type 2 health centres in 260 wards in the state, Barr. Aninwagwa assured that Like Minds will continue to support leadership of Governor Peter Mbah to achieve his vision for Ndi Enugu.
He called on members of the People’s Democratic Party who joined other political parties in the build up to the 2023 General elections to return home.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, ENUGU South Local Government Area Chapter, Chief Emma Ugwu said Governor Mbah has proven that he came prepared for governance stressing that under one year over 71 roads have been constructed.
He thanked the governor for appointing their sons and daughters into juicy positions in his cabinet and assured that Enugu LGA will continue to support Governor Mbah to deliver democracy dividends to the people.
On his part, the Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Hon. Vincent Chukwu said Governor Mbah is determined to revolutionised governance.
Hon. Chukwu commended the various initiatives by the governor to fight insecurity in the state such as the installation of Close Circuit Television Cameras in major hot spots in the state.
A communications scholar and lecturer, Mass Communication department, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, Dr. Maxwell Ngene also eulogised the leadership qualities of Governor Peter Mbah.
Dr. Ngene said Governor Mbah’s achievements in just one year in office is a testament that he was prepared for governance.
On her part, the member representing ENUGU South Rural, in ENUGU State House of Assembly, Onyinye Ugwu thanked the people for their support for the administration of Governor Peter Mbah.
The meeting was attended members of the PDP from the various political wards in ENUGU South local government area.
