Enugu State Gets New Transition Committee Chairmen For 11 LGAs

Following the resignation of Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen and Deputies who are contesting in the Saturday September 16, 2017 LG primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, in keeping with the guidelines of the PDP and the requirements of the Electoral Act, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi today swore in the newly appointed Transition Committee Chairmen and Deputies to replace the affected Chairmen and Deputies.

The newly sworn in Transition Committee Chairmen and Deputies are as follow:
1. Aninri LGA: Alukwu Ben
2. Awgu LGA: Ibe Ugonna
3. Ezeagu LGA: Engr. Evaristus Anibueze / Deputy: Dr. Jovita Okafor
4. Igbo-Etiti LGA: Hon Ignatius Ishienyi
5. Igbo-Eze North LGA: Ugwunze Olisaemeka Mescana / Deputy: Nze Dennis Eze
6. Igbo-Eze South LGA: Agbo Paulinus / Deputy: Odumegwu Samuel
7. Nkanu East LGA: Nwobodo Uche
8. Nkanu West LGA: Chika Igwesi/ Deputy: Austin Nwodo
9. Nsukka LGA: Dr. Ejike Asadu
10. Oji River LGA: Mba Geoffrey / Deputy: Solomon Nze
11. Udenu LGA: Hon. Eze Innocent

The appointments, according to the governor, take immediate effect.

Gov. Ugwuanyi also announced that the HPMs of Enugu South, Enugu North, Isi Uzo and Udi Local Government Areas should take charge of the administration of the four councils until Tuesday when the newly appointed Transition Committee Chairmen will be sworn in.

In a related development, Gov. Ugwuanyi accepted the resignation of the Honourable Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Fidelis Ani, who resigned to contest for the post of Chairmanship in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area and that of his Special Adviser on Project Development and Implementation (PDI), Engr. Abel Uchenna Nwobodo, who was sworn in today as the Transition Committee Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area.
