The younger brother to Chidi Ezema, Enugu State Head of Service, Sabastine Ezema has formally declared for the Enugu House of Assembly seat to represent the people of Nsukka West Constituency.
Ezema who indicated his interest for the legislative position at the PDP Secretariat, Nsukka at a well-attended event by family members, friends, party executives and political associates, said he will provide effective and purposeful representation if given the opportunity.
He said his decision to run for the position is in response to the clarion call by his people for quality representation which he said has eluded the constituency.
“My people called to inform me that they have cried, prayed and they have also been directed that the only way for them to accomplish what their needs are is for somebody like me to come and represent them in Nsukka West for Enugu State House of Assembly’’, he said.
“For me, I have listened to what my people want. First of all, they said they have not experienced quality representation in the hallowed chamber and they know that when I go there, I will give them what they desire”.
He said he will commit himself to securing a bright future for the youths and women of the constituency through sponsorship of bills to create jobs and economic opportunities, stressing that within one year in office, the people will feel the impact of his representation.
Ezema noted that, Nsukka West Constituency needs leaders with fresh ideas in governance that can address contemporary challenges facing the people.
“I have also assured them that the future of the youths will be guaranteed because the first bill I am going to propose is to promote economic empowerment for the youths and women too’’.
On his contribution to society as a private individual, the aspirant said “I have been a great supporter of the party. People have enjoyed scholarships under my care but these are things I am not meant to talk about. It is God that gives opportunity”.
Ezema lauded Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his uncommon leadership and transformation within three years in office adding that Governor Ugwuanyi deserves unassailable second term.
“His first term, it has been very wonderful and fantastic and it is based on the uncommon transformation he has achieved in his first term that is why the people have also endorsed him for his second tenure”.
“Even if it is not possible for him to go for a third tenure, after the second term, he is going to the federal level”.
“And it is also because his train is a fast moving one that is why my people also feel it is important to bring in people that have great ideas that will come and queue into that vision before the train leaves”.
