Police Command in Enugu State have assured residents of the state of their safety and security as its working to checkmate spill-over of what is happening in a neighbouring state.
It would be recalled that Abia State for four days running had experienced some security breaches following clashes between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and security agencies.
The Command’s spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said this in a statement on Friday in Enugu.
“The command wishes to inform members of the public particularly residents of the state that they should not entertain fear or panic but to go about their normal lawful businesses.
“Residents are also advised to report promptly about any information concerning threat to peace, safety and security in their environment to the nearest police station or contact the state police command.
“The following are the command’s distress call numbers: 08032003702, 08075390883, 08086671202 and 08098880172.
“You can also contact the command through its social media platforms of @PoliceNG_Enugu and on facebook at Nigeriapoliceforceenugustatecommand for prompt necessary action,’’ he said.
The spokesman said that police operatives had been working in partnership with sister security agencies and stakeholders towards ensuring that there would be no breakdown of law and order in the state.
“The command is working in partnership with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the existing peace and safety in the state is not compromised,’’ he added.
