Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state has restated his government commitment to ensure the security of corps members posted to the state.
Ugwuanyi disclosed this on Monday in Enugu during the closing ceremony of 2019 Batch ‘C’ , Stream One, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Course.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Mr Uwakwe Azikiwe, Ugwuanyi said that the state government was passionate about the safety of corps members in the state.
He said that adequate arrangements had been made with the security agencies to ensure that corps members were safe in any part of the state.

“I want to assure you that the state government is passionate about your security, it has made adequate arrangement for your safety wherever you are posted to serve.
“We shall continue to recognise, motivate and reward excellence by granting honours and awards to those of you who perform excellently at the end of the service year,” he said.
Ugwuanyi urged them to leverage on the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurial Development programmes of the scheme to develop their potentials.
“Our government will continue to provide the support needed to achieve the objectives of the NYSC scheme.
“So we urge employers of labour in both public and private sectors in the state to accept corps members posted to them,” he said.
Ugwuanyi appealed to the corps members to emulate the footprints of their predecessors who he said made positive impacts on the state.
Earlier, Mr Stephen Dewan, NYSC Coordinator in the state, urged the corps members to make themselves relevant in their host communities and places of primary assignments.
Dewan urged the corps members to continue with post-camp skills acquisition training in order to adequately prepare for self-employment after the service year.
He commended the state government for its contributions to the success of the programme.
