A socio-politic group, Igbo-Eze South West Forum in Igbo-Eze South local government area of Enugu state has passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and endorsed him for a second term come 2019.
The group which held a solidarity rally in Enugu said the decision was necessitated by the overwhelming and giant strides recorded by Governor Ugwuanyi in the areas of infrastructural development, provision of healthcare facilities and human development, which it said cut across the three senatorial zones of the State.
Speaking on behalf of the group,Johnson Chukwuemeka Eze noted that considering Governor Ugwuanyi’s achievements, the people of Enugu state should reciprocate the gestures by re-electing him for a second term and adopted him as the sole candidate for the governorship election in Enugu state come 2019.
“Sequel to the meeting of Igbo-Eze South West Forum of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Enugu State, held on the 10th of August, 2017 at the council headquarters, Ibagwa-Aka, the forum made up of members from Eight Wards in Ibagwa-Aka, Itchi, Nkalagu-Obukpa, Unadu and Alor-Agu, use this medium to pass a vote of confidence on you for your overwhelming giant strides in the areas of infrastructural development, provision of healthcare facilities and above all human development which cut across the three senatorial zones of Enugu State”.
“Sir, the democratic dividends of your administration in these two years of your stewardship are eloquent testimonies of your ingenuity in transforming our dear state to a height that is second to none among the comity of states in Nigeria in spite of the lean resources available to the state”.
“The Forum unanimously resolve that considering your numerous achievements, within your two years in office, we maintain that there is no vacancy in Lion Building come 2019 and urge the good people of Enugu state to reciprocate these gestures by re-electing you for a second term. We are also adopting you as the sole candidate for the governorship election in Enugu state come 2019”.
