A Socio-Political Organization Committed to equity, fair play and credible elections, D-Peace in Delta State has passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of Delta State, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his enviable track record in the last two years.
The group after reviewing the activities of the Governor in the last two years in the areas of projects execution and interpersonal relations with key stakeholders, communities, security and peace building in the state scored the Governor a pass mark for his performance.
The group which lauded the efforts of the Governor in spite of the dwindling financial allocations of the state in a communiqué issued after its meeting at the office of the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Community and Peace Building, Chief David Omoru, who also doubled as chief –co-ordinator of D-peace called on the federal government to release more funds to the state.
Members of the D-peace, who expressed confidence in the ability of the governor to deliver the dividends of democracy, however, urged the good people of Delta state to support the Okowa administration.
Chief Omoru, while addressing members of the group, urged Deltans to give Governor Ifeanyi Okowa a second term based on his passion for development and peacebuilding in the state.
While advising members of the group to remain steadfast in the support for the governor, he said that Senator Okowa is a good governor who always delivers. He prayed for increased allocations to the state and improved internally generated revenue (IGR) for the governor to do more
Chief Omoru made presentations of cash and items to members of D-peace and others, who attended the meeting.
