  Herdsmen: Our People are living in Fear-Enugu Lawmaker Cries Out

Member representing Nkanu East coonstituecy in Enugu state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor has condemned the brutal murder of a Reverend Father Offu and kidnap of a renowned monarch and wife as well as incessant attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen on the people of Enugu state.

The lawmaker also raised alarm over planned attack by Fulani Herdsmen on the peaceful community of Ndiaguede Nara and other parts of Nkanu East LGA and called for urgent intervention and Security surveillance by security agencies as the people are currently living in fear.

While contributing to a motion sponsored by the Member representing Ezeagu Constituency, Chima Obieze on the “Need to Intensify Security in the Rural Areas, High ways and other parts of Enugu State”, Nnajiofor who is the House Committee Chairman on Rural Development and CSDP noted that the growing insecurity in the state and other parts of the country is a failure of the President Mohammadu Buhari’s government to live up to its constitutional responsibility to protect lives and property of Nigerians.

He commended efforts so far made by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in curtailing security challenges in the state including approval for the recruitment of 1700 forest guards across the 17 local government areas of the state.
