The House of Representatives member, who recently engaged science teachers in 54 secondary schools in capacity training, distributed over 1,000 desks and mobile science kits to the schools in Awgu, Aninri and Oji river local government areas.
It was indeed an act of exemplary leadership to the people of Enugu west who gathered at Girls High School, Nnewe to witness the presentation of these items by the honourable member.
Okechukwu who had in December last year paid for the WAEC fees of over 1,19 secondary school students in the constituency, recognised education empowerment as the best one can give to another to attain higher level in life.
The Deputy Senate President, Ike Eweremadu who expressed gratitude to the House of Rep member for his kind gesture noted that the move signifies a good attitude to governance, adding that Enugu west has so far witnessed a commendable representation by its representatives.
He however thanked Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his services and commitment to the wellbeing of the people of the state.
National Organising Secetary, Peoples Democratic Party, Austin Akobundu congratulated the young students who were opportune to benefit from Toby Okechukwu’s empowerment programmes.
Principals of some secondary schools in the areas thanked the house of rep member for deeming it necessary to improve standard of education in Enugu west senatorial zone.
