The Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF) a pan-Igbo socio-political pressure

group, has hailed the Federal High Court for the judgment delivered

against former Abia State Governor, Sen. Orji Uzo Kalu.

The President of the forum, Mr Augustine Chukwudum, said this to the

newsmen on Saturday in Enugu in reaction to the judgment delivered on

Thursday in Lagos.

“NUF commends the judiciary for excellent judgment delivered against

former Abia State Governor for money laundering during his eight years

tenure in the state.

“We also commend the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for fighting to the finish despite all the blackmail carried against

the commission and delay tactics deployed by counsels to Sen. Kalu,’’

chukwudum said.

The NUF boss, however, called the EFCC to prosecute other ex-governors from the Southeast and nationwide.

Kalu, who is currently a serving senator in Nigeria, was sentenced to

12 years prison term on a N7.56 billion fraud perpetrated while he was

Governor of Abia state.
