Oodua People’s Congress-Reformed (OPC-R) has faulted the invasion of Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho’s house by operatives of the Directorate of State Security Services (DSS), describing the raid as unacceptable.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lagos, President of OPC-R, Comrade Dare Adesope urged security forces to leave Igboho alone and combat insecurity ravaging the country.

He said: ‘’ Sunday Igboho, should be left alone because arresting him or anybody in any part of Oodualand will not change the ball game.

‘’The invasion of Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho’s house that led to the loss of lives and destruction of property is not acceptable to us.

“The Department of States Security should have invited him officially instead of the invasion which almost jeopardise the peaceful coexistence we are enjoying in the southwest. It has been established that we Yorubas are not cowards and we refused to be intimidated, because in spite of all odds we still held the rally on Saturday July 3, 2021, to register our grievances peacefully although it was disrupted by government security agencies and an innocent young girl was killed.’’

Adesope called on the federal government to ensure genuine restructuring of the country, adding that the current system of governance is not working.

“A sane Yoruba son or daughter will support Oodua Nation because it is long overdue. I personally have been hammering on restructuring but Nigerian government or should I say this present leadership don’t want to hear about it. The present system of governance is not the best for Nigeria, it is not working and can never work.”
