The Muslim community in Enugu state has commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his commitment in ensuring peace and security are sustained in Enugu state.
They made the commendation during a special prayer for peace held on Sunday at the Islamic centre, Enugu, in solidarity to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The Chief Imam, Central Mosque, Asata, Zulgar Naini Saeed who presided over the prayer session charged Nigerians to work towards enthronement of peace and unity in the country.

Saeed observed that the recent insecurity challenges in the state were unknown and alien to Enugu state and called on the people to support the efforts of the state government to address the situation.
He warned those fomenting trouble and instigating violence to desist or face the consequences.
Saeed said prayers are needed now more than ever before because of the collapse of values, increase in social vices and lack of love for one another.
“If you watch, the economy is coming down and inflation is going higher. Killing of people everywhere. This is telling us that we are facing some calamities. But we don’t even raise our hands to cry to God, the one that says if you call on me, I will answer you.” Then we now kept our mouth shut when we are seeing all these. We are cheating ourselves. We have the one that can make the change for us, instant change, but we keep our mouth shut”.
“Things that are happening in some state are now getting to Enugu state today, which were not happening before”. He said.
He prays for God to give leaders in the country strength and wisdom to address the challenges facing the country.
Also speaking the Sarkin Hausa, Enugu state, Alhaji Idris Ado, and Galadima Enugu state, Suleiman Haruma said the Hausa community will continue to support the Enugu state government in achieving its security strategy.
on their part, former chairman, enugu state pilgrim welfare board, Alhaji Suleiman Okenwa, Chairman, Peace Committee, Udi Local Government, Prince Garuba Mohammed as well as the president, Moslem corpers association of Nigeria, Enugu state chapter, Iyanda Abdul-Ameed said only prayer can save Nigeria from the current challenges facing the country and expressed the hope that things will improve for the benefit of the masses.
