Speaking with newsmen on Wednesday in Enugu on the forthcoming medical outreach, Founder of the NGO, Dr Magdalene Agada, said that the organization had concluded arrangement for a hitch-free exercise meant to impact positively on the community.
Agada said that the outreach, which would take place on Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. Michal Anglican Church, Akumazie-Umuocha, would have highly skilled medical professionals attending to the indigenes and free referral treatment.
She said: “The organization value live because the way people are dying constantly is becoming devastating to us and we are really scared that we are losing our people everyday due to extreme poverty and lack of medical care.
“The low health indices in the country are very disturbing and frightening to me as the President of Open Hands Amazing Charitable Organization.
“We are calling on other Nigerians in Diaspora to emulate our footsteps in conducting free medical outreach programmes to supplement and subsidise government help towards the less privileged people and indigent people back home.
“Nigerians in Diaspora should show little act of uncommon kindness to our people back home in Nigeria to extend their wellbeing with these free medical outreach programmes.
“It would revive hopes and inspire them to value their lives more seriously by going for regular medical check up to help prolong lives in Nigeria,” he said.
The founder thanked Dr Josepine Ewere in United Kingdom and Dr Aloysius Agada in USA for their financial and moral support for the organisation’s outreaches within the country.
It would be recalled that organization had carried out a free medical outreach in Ibuzor community in Delta for 400 residents and recently another outreach in Egede community in Ude Local Government Area of Enugu State where about 1500 residents were attended to.
