NGROPPMAN says groundnut will boost Nigeria’s IGR

The National Groundnut Producers, Processors & Marketers Association of Nigeria (NGROPPMAN) has said its products will boost the nation’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the country if given an adequate attention.

Aimu Foni, president of NGROPPMAN during a stakeholders meeting held in Abuja yesterday said the Agricultural sector is one key area that can boost a nation’s economy if conscious efforts are put in place.

Aimu Foni while addressing stakeholders, decried the poor  attention given to Groundnut as a commodity and as well the poor distribution of Aflasafe by the Ministry of Agriculture which according to him poses a set back to the product.

Aimu Foni disclose that the ban on Nigeria’s Groundnut over the years has now been lifted, adding, that the products is now on Block chain and can now be exported to all parts of the world.

He further appealed to the government and other private sector to invest on Agricultural, especially in Groundnut because of its multipurpose values and usage, which he admitted that it will boost the nation’s economy.

The meeting which witnessed a massive turnout was attended by some representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Investment and Ministry of Agriculture.

Other stakeholders present include; (Vice president 1) Mr. Robert Ekemita, (Vic president 2) Abdulrazaq Mohammed, (Secretary) Adeniyi Adebayo and other representatives of NGROPPMAN members across the 36 states and geopolitical zones.
