Enugu commissioner for youths and sports, Joseph Udedi has charged members of the national youth council of Nigeria, to work in harmony to ensure peace and progress, in order to achieve their principal objectives.
Commissioner Udedi, represented by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Henrietta Ani, gave the charge on Tuesday at the new state secretariat complex Enugu, while inaugurating directors, deputy directors, secretaries and members of the organisations’ various directorates.
The commissioner who told the newly inaugurated executives, to shun selfish interest and ensure accountability in their positions, charged them to promote governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s four points agenda which includes employment generation.
Udedi further assured them of the ministry’s readiness to ensure the welfare of youths in the state, stating that any nation without the youths will go extinct.
Earlier in his address, the president, national youth council of Nigeria, Enugu state chapter, comrade Paschal Ugwu commended the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for youth oriented programmes, embarked upon by his administration.
About thirteen directors and secretaries were inaugurated to head the organisations’ various directorates.
