The Oloja Ekun of Igbesa land in the Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of Ogun State, Oba Abdul Azeez Akinde, has tasked the parents to help the government in tackling the problem of insecurity by giving their children proper home training and quality education.
The monarch who was presented a staff of office by the state government seven years after the late Oba died, said it would end security challenges in the country.
Oba Akinde said this at a press briefing which is part of activities lined up to celebrate the coronation.
The monarch who spoke through the chairman of the coronation planning committee, Prof. Adeyemi Bamgbose said lack of home training was responsible for the challenges of insecurity.
He said, “In our nation today, we are facing a lot of security challenges but as I said during my coronation, this is due to so many of our children or youths with little or no good home training.
“In the old times, we were thought to shun all forms of evil deeds but now you see all these young ones are bold to commit crime citing corruption in the country as an excuse.
“Parents need to rise to the occasion and ensure they give their children good home training and ensure they get quality basic education of primary and secondary school education before letting them decide the path they want to go.
“They should also ensure that they always guide them in every stage of their lives. If we train and educate our children properly the nation will be better of and there would be a reduction of insecurity”
The committee however said the coronation celebration would be a week-long event starting from November 27 to December 5, 2021.
