The National Executive Council,  NEC, of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide has passed yet another vote of confidence in their leader, Chief John Nnia Nwodo.
Assessing the past two years of the leadership of Chief Nwodo of the apex Igbo Cultural organisation, the Enugu State President, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, said that the President General had repositioned Ohaneze to become the most focused cultural organisation in the country.
Chief Ogbonnia stated that Chief Nwodo had built bridges across the nation that had earned him the Independent Newspaper award as the Bridge Builder.
He observed that Chief Nwodo had been the most outspoken leader of people on the issue of restructuring which he believes will liberate Nigeria from the myriad of problems facing her.
Seconding the motion on vote of confidence, the Vice-President General, Delta State,  Dr Sylvanus Ebigwei, said that for a long time, Ohaneze Ndigbo had not had it so good in terms of direction and vocality. Dr Ebigwei said that Ohaneze Ndigbo was now an organisation that no part of the country could ignore in arriving on decisions concerning the nation.
He reechoed Chief Ogbonnia’s remark that restructuring has now become a national mantra due to the tenacity, advocacy and boldness of the President General thereby restoring Ndigbo to a position of pride.
Responding, Chief Nwodo thanked the NEC members for the confidence reposed in him and assured them that the remaining two years would be more impactful as many activities and projects of interest to Ndigbo and the nation at large would be embarked upon by his administration and courted the cooperation of all NEC members and the governments of all Igbo-speaking states to make his dream a reality for the advancement of Ndigbo and Nigeria.
