Mr Sam Ngene, PDP Candidate for Enugu South Urban State Constituency, has assured of robust engagement with constituents through regular town hall meetings and consultations, when elected.

Ngene, who was a former Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, disclosed this to newsmen on Sunday.

He noted that he would organise extensive town hall meetings to know the pressing needs of his people and how to solve them.

“I intend to draw closer to my people through creating easy access for them to meet with me as well as express their needs to me.

“I have already opened a campaign office, which will eventually transform to my constituency office, when I am elected since it is sited at the city centre and highly accessible.

“Within every quarter of the year, I will be organizing a comprehensive town hall meeting to interact with my people.

“Through the outcomes of these quarterly town hall meetings and other consultations; I will know the needs of our people; how best and fast to solve them.

“The ones we can use legislative means to solve, I will pursue it to a logical conclusion in the state house; while the ones to be solved by the executive, I will lead my constituents on advocacy and consultation with the executive arm of government on them,’’ he said.

Ngene, who noted that he believes in `one-man one-vote principle’, said that he had already started household-to-household campaign.

“I am not leaving anything to chance or taking my opponents for granted since I know at the D-day, it will be one-man, one-vote,’’ he said.

He urged the teeming population living in Enugu South Urban State Constituency to vote en mass for the PDP since “the essence of people like me seeking public service is to provide service and succor to our people’’

“My antecedent as a former council boss speaks volume of my kind of person and how many lives I have touched in my constituency; even as I plan to do much more when elected.

“I must thank Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the PDP state and Enugu South LGA executives for spotting me out of a whole lot of others.

“I will do my best not to let the confidence repose on me down,’’ he added.
