The Nigerian Police Force, Zone 13 Command Ukpo, Anambra State has reportedly arrested the Head of Nursing Department , Coal City University, Enugu, Mba Alphonsus.
Mba was arrested on Saturday 14th of October 2023.
According to report, Mba was taken to Emene Police Station shortly after he was taken into custody before he was moved to Zone 13 Ukpo where he’s been detained.
His arrest is not unconnected with allegations of identity theft and fraud which he allegedly committed at the school of Post Basic Psychiatry, Enugu, when he was acting Principal.
The Police that his real name is Mr. Gregory Agbo from Nchatancha Nike but he used WAEC result of his brother in-law Alphonsus Mba.
It was alleged that he has been using that name throughout his civil service career in Nursing.
He was said to have used the same name to get employment as Head of Department of Nursing at Coal City University, Enugu.
He was also alleged to have parted with Six Million Naira he collected from students when he was the acting Principal School of Post Basic Psychiatry Nursing, Enugu.
According to the Police, Mba is cooperating and providing useful statement to them.
This investigation is part of the investigation of the Medical Director of Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu, Dr. Monday Igwe, which was approved by the Inspector General of police into the alleged fraud and other related crimes in the hospital.
The Police said more arrests are imminent in furtherance to their investigation.
Mba is still at the police custody as at press time.
This is coming not less than two weeks after the suspension of the embattled Medical Director Dr Igwe by the Federal Ministry of Health.
