Operatives of the anti-kidnap unit of the Enugu State Police Command have rescued the elder statesman and former Secretary-General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nduka Eya who was allegedly abducted on August 3, 2017 at Ezillo Street, Independence Layout, Enugu.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu who disclosed said Eya was rescued unhurt through intelligence information and coordinated operation carried out by the operatives in a forest along Enugu/Abakiliki Expressway.

According to Amaraizu, the command also arrested one suspect identified as one Chibundu Amadi.
He added that a locally made gun was recovered from him and he is helping the operatives in their investigations.
Meanwhile, Eya has reunited with the family while manhunt on other suspects has been intensified.
