The operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have foiled two bandits’ attacks and rescued five kidnapped victims while two kidnappers were neutralised.
This was disclosed by the command’s Spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, in a press statement made available to the Punch on Monday.
Sadiq stated that the command received a distress call on Sunday about a bandit attack on Layin Minister Village, Malumfashi LGA of the state.
He said during the attack, five persons were kidnapped.
“Upon receipt of the report, operatives were quickly mobilised and dispatched to the scene. On noticing the presence of the police, the hoodlums opened fire on the operatives which they responded gallantly.”
“On receipt of the information, DPO Malumfashi swiftly mobilized security operatives, who rushed to the scene and gallantly engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel and successfully foiled the attack.
“In the course of scanning the scene, the bodies of two (2) neutralized suspected armed bandits were recovered, while efforts are being intensified to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspects as an investigation has commenced,” he added.
While commending the exceptional act of valour displayed by the operatives, the state police Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Musa, reiterated the Command’s commitment towards ensuring a better-secured state
