The Archbishop, Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Most Revd, Emmanuel Chukwuma has faulted the federal government claim that Nigeria has come out of recession and advised the APC-led government to stop deceiving Nigerians.

The archbishop who spoke on the state of the nation said nothing whatsoever has indicated the position of the federal government a the cost of living was still beyond the reach of the common man.

“It is not yet revealing, so we don’t want them to deceive us. Until we see the price of things going down and we see the strikes ending, fuel having the right prices, inflation going down, students being able to get their school fees paid, doctors going back to work and salary being paid as and when due. When all these things are done, roads being constructed and we see the money being spent the right way, until then we don’t believe it has ended. “He said.

Chukwuma called on Nigerians to restructure their lives by knowing who God is and stressed the need for end to selfishness and hate speeches.

According to him, “The church is calling fo a restructuring of the life. People should restructure their lives by knowing who God is and loving themselves. And allowing selfishness to be buried, hate speeches to be buried and begin to think how we can make Nigeria move forward. Not selfishness, grabbing or stealing”.

He said the church will continue to stand for righteousness, love of God and care for one another and more importantly, creation of jobs to ensure equity and justice.

Archbishop Chukwuma charged Nigerians to be consistent in prayers for Nigerian leaders for God to transform their lives towards righteousness and fulfil their mandate to the people.

“We should shun corruption, fear God, and allow peace to reign in Nigeria,” Chukwuma said.
