The Sterling-Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company (SEEPCO) has donated skill acquisition training materials worth millions of naira to the Division Training School (DTS) of 82 Division of the Nigerian Army.
The donated items included: 140 mattresses/bed frames, seven flat screen televisions, 120 combined classroom set of chairs/tables and 22 air conditioners.
Other items are eight HP Laserjets printers, six Comb printing machines among others.
Handling over the items at the Abakpa Military Cantonment, Enugu on Wednesday, the SEEPCO Vice President, Mr Sandeep Singh, said that the Division had been a key organization that provide them with security.
Singh, who was represented by the company’s Security Coordinator, Navy Captain Charles Egbe (retired), said that the security provided by the Division had led to effective production of the company.
He said the gesture was a way of showing appreciation as well as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the company.
“We believe that this will further cement existing relationship within the Division and the company,’’ he said.
Receiving the items, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Division, Maj.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, expressed gratitude over the huge kind gesture to the Division.
Lagbaja, ably represented by the Chief of Staff, Brig.-Gen. Greg Omorogbe, assured that the items would be judiciously used for the purpose intended for and enhancing troop proficiency.
