The Chairman, Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC , Prophet Jones Ode Erhue has debunked media reports that fresh crises were rocking the state chapter of the party.
Prophet Erhue in a statement assured party faithful that there is no FRESH CRISIS rocking the party under his watch. He was reacting to a story published by an online news platform titled: “FRESH CRISIS ROCK DELTA APC; ENUHA, ONOCHIE”.
The statement reads:
The party has come a long way from the protracted crisis that clogged the party for a long time to achieve the current and subsisting peace we now enjoy and will do and take all necessary actions to protect and preserve the unity and peace of the party.
All leaders of the party are to do all within their powers to nurture and help to preserve the unity and peace.
All grievances by a leader or leaders are to be channelled through the State Exco for address and resolution.
For purpose of clarity, I want to expressly state that the authority to call a stakeholders meeting in the name of APC is a prerogative of the party organs at all levels. Therefore, no leader or leaders have a right to summon a STAKEHOLDERS meeting of the party. Only party organs at the units, wards, LGAs and State have the authority to summon or convene stakeholders’ meetings. I therefore, admonish all party leaders that as we engage with one another to foster peace and unity in the party, we must bear in mind the limitations that are linked with actions that would forestall, instead of enhancing the aim of our party to take over Delta State in the not too distant future.
It is in light of the above reason that the party has conceded to allow the existence of PRESSURE GROUPS. Leaders may summon meetings of their respective pressure groups but NEVER a stakeholders meeting of APC as a party.
This statement shall serve as a notice to all leaders to desist from summoning stakeholders meetings. Any person or leader who, henceforth, disregards this directive shall face the full force of disciplinary actions as prescribed in the party constitution.
Also, pressure group meetings should be avenue for promoting the unity and progress of the party. Henceforth, Party officials shall attend such meetings to monitor proceedings. The party shall immediately disband any pressure group that promotes divisiveness and anarchy and shall also subject their leaders to disciplinary actions in accordance to the party constitution.
No individual or leader or leaders or pressure groups are entitled to take the law into their hands and write petition or petitions against APC government appointees from the state. All APC government appointees from the state hold their positions in trust for the state party. Any grievances against anyone of them must be directed to the party which shall take such up with the appointee. No leader or leaders or pressure groups shall take the internal issues of Delta APC to leaders and others government appointees or national party officials without passing through the internal processes of the State Exco.
On the current matter on ground, I shall immediately reach out to Chief Hyacinth Enuha to immediately discontinue his self-help stance and resort to the internal processes of the state party. No one is to further summon an APC stakeholders meeting on this matter or continue to take any further action on the matter.
I shall be returning shortly and on my return I shall immediately convene the inaugural meeting of the State Caucus where critical issues towards the unity and progress of the party shall be discussed.
The State Exco shall also be reaching out urgently to all APC federal government appointees from Delta State for the purpose of having them account for their stewardship as appointees from the state and seeking their hands in empowerment of our party members. Where it becomes necessary to take on our appointees for neglect or any other offence, it will be the party that will act and not individuals.I thank all party leaders and faithfuls and urge everyone to sheath his or her sword and continue to work for the unity, peace and progress of the party.
