The suspects, identified as Edehikenna Stanley and Segun Tope, reportedly stole two industrial batteries and held the security guards on the estate hostage.

They were later arrested following a distress call received by policemen in the Onipanu divisional headquarters around 3am.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday.

Oyeyemi said the police were tipped off on Saturday that robbers invaded the company and held the security men hostage.

He said, “Upon the distress call, the DPO, Onipanu Police Station, CSP Bamidele Job, quickly mobilised his men and moved to the scene.
