Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has assured that eighty-seven percent of the total population of Urhobos who are members of PDP are solidly behind Delta State Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa in his ambition to come back in 2019.

Onuesoke gave the assurance recently while speaking to journalists in Asaba, Delta State after arising from a meeting with the new Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Onuesoke, a former governorship aspirant in 2007 general election said with the support of Urhobos and other tribes in Delta State, Okowa return in 2019 is guaranteed.

Reiterating his loyalty to Okowa and the speaker, Onuesoke appealed to Urhobos to support the Governor in his determination to win the state governorship election in 2019, adding that his victory in 2019 would give him the opportunity to complete the good work he had started in the development of the state.

He maintained that the governor had executed numerous projects across the state in fulfilment of his SMART agenda, and commended the people of Delta State for the confidence vote passed on Okowa, while still appealing for their continued support.

According to him, since Okowa assumption of office and informed by its desire to promote technical and vocational education, he had reconstructed the state-owned technical colleges in Agbor, Ofagbe and Sapele.

“In his drive to create jobs Delta State Government under Okowa Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) initiative had trained no fewer than 1,027 youths and made provisions for them to start their own businesses. Another 256 people were trained under the Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP). So far, the government has created over 17,000 private sector jobs,” he disclosed.

He affirmed that the Governor had constructed fifty roads projects covering over 148kilometres, including 113 kilometres of concrete-lined drains, adding that preparations are on top gear for the construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation and completion of twenty nine roads across the state.

“Some of the roads are Oteri township roads, Ughelli, Oleh/Emede/Olomoro road, Owhe-Ologbo/Abbi road, Idumu-Ughoh road, Agbor and Ejinyere/Orode road, Orerokpe. Others are Alisimie-Ozanogogo road, dualisation of Nnebisi road, Asaba and Sapele road from Amukpe junction to AT&P,” Onuesoke explained.

He stated that the government is equally focusing on infrastructural development of hospitals and primary health care centres as well as the procurement of drugs and cutting edge medical equipment in major health care facilities in the three senatorial districts
