Election crisis rocking the Delta State chapter of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria has led to the division of its members.
The Chairman of the Association, Nwachukwu Bolum, condemned the campaign of calumy against him, insisting that his executives were re-elected and returned un opposed.
He said, “The election was in line with the Association’s Constitution rules and regulation in the presence of stakeholders, security agents, authorized delegates, observers and representatives of the national body, including ex-official members.
“My executive were duly re-elected and returned un-opposed after a keenly contested election conducted in accordance with association’s rules and regulations.”
In a meeting held in the office of the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Establishment and Pensions in the Office of the Head of Service, O. G. Nwani presided at the instance of the head of service, Regina Bayoko.
He said representatives were invited from both sides and as well as that of Comrade Arinze Caretaker Committee with the objectives of finding permanent solution to the lingering crises that erupted immediately after the election.
On his part, Michael Arinze who claimed to be the interim Chairman of Association of Senior Civil Servants in the State, vowed to fight to the end.

“There was no election on that date; the truth was that due to the escalated crisis, the Congress resolved to put a caretaker Committee in place pending when peace will return for proper election to be held.”
He stated that the crisis was causing labour unrest in the state.
The Head of Service Delta State Mr. Regina Bayoko said the government is currently mediating on the crisis to avoid industrial unrest in the state.
